i know that everyone has seen this so called "performance chip" for sale on ebay. it promises to add 10 to 20 hp. well i always thought it was crap and would never consider buying it but i have a friend who spends all his spare time online and bought this thing off ebay for me. its just a wire looking thing that is supposed to plug into the intake temp sensor and from what i got out of reading the instructions it just tricks the ecu by sending a signal saying the air is actually colder than it is thus adding more fuel. i was gonna put it in and give it a try but i don't know if its a good idea. from reading it i think i would be running rich. but i don't know that much. would that really be bad for the engine? is this thing worth a try? i don't really care either way since it was free and all but if it would make any difference i figure its worth a try if it wont be disasterous to my engine. give me some input what do you guys think

I dont think it would be too bad for your engine if you try it out......but if it tricks your ECU into sending more fuel than necessary, then you'll be running pretty rich and might make your engine run rough and dirty if you dont have a way to ignite it all. I personally wouldnt use it, use a JET V-Force or Venom 400 instead, preferably a JET V-force since ive read up on it quite a bit lately, and seems to be an inexpensive and easy chip mod with some good potential for power wink.gif
