Ok so i was on my way to the gym and I saw a honda and we started playing cat n mouse a bit. I give him the "whats up" nod and then turned off to go to my gym. I come out an hour later and theres a note on my car that reads
"Nice Little Race! Call me sometime. Oh and next time u wont have to roll down the window" so i call him and we chat for a few but he had to go to work so he said he would call me later. Well i text him back n forth a few times and i ask if he has a g/f and he said Yes. been with her for 3 years. I said what are u thinking leaving ur number on a girls car? and hes like well u seem fun to hang with and im like well yeah go make ur friends thru ur work or something but dont go chase down a girl. And he said he was strictly lookin for friends but it baffles me that he would go so much out of his way to try talk to me. I told him i cant be friends with someone who can do that. So is that ok? If u guys were/are in a relationship would u go leave ur number on a girls car? -------------------- Cruisin down the street in my Infiniti...always lookin for my next trip to Sin City

QUOTE(Mr2_Joel @ May 2, 2005 - 1:45 PM) just to play devils advocate.....maybe he just left you a note cuz u had a nice car and he wants to meet more car ppl. If you were a guy and he left something, you wouldn't think twice lol. He probably is trying to get some, but if I saw a girl driving a hot car I wouldn't mind becoming friends, no relationship involved..... Yeah i would want to talk to a girl about cars even if i had a girl, but im not sure if i would go as far as that. I mean i would might stop to chat about the car a lil, but thats all. QUOTE(BlackCelicaGT94 @ May 2, 2005 - 3:38 PM) well how bout corvettes? Im hanging with a guy with a corvette tonight! On the original topic, it's okay if he actually meant it. A lot of people have a hard time making friends. Or, he might be one of those people who go out of their way to make friends, and have a lot of them.
After your race, he knows you like cars, have guts, keep yourself in shape, like speeding, willing to bend the rules to have some fun, etc. Not a bad introduction, really. The Honda thing...well, sometimes you just don't have a choice. When I was looking for a car, reliability was a major issue. I ended up with the choices of a 90-92 Celica GT, 92-94 Civic DX, or a 95-96 Sentra XE. Celicas were damned near impossible to find, and truth be told I jumped at the first one that met my prices, which I kind of regret -- just had a Maaco paint job, which I've since had to replace. Give the guy the benefit of the doubt, until you see whether he's got the engine and the smarts to be worth the time. If he's smart enough, you'll be able to wean him off his Honda pretty quickly. It's a community service. |
