I don't think turboing the regular 3S-GE could get you the same amount of hp as the 3S-GTE, since they are different (read: compression and internals). Also, if you are going to turbo ANY n/a motor you are in for a real workout. Some have done it on this forum, but way too many have been "thinking about turboing" and probably never gotten it finished or working like it should. Save some money and buy a 3S-GTE clip. (that won't be easy to install either, but alot safer then just turboing the 3S-GE, and maybe even cheaper in install if you don't have a bolt-on / drop in kit).
I also live in Europe (Norway) and for me to turbo my 7A-FE it would cost 2.500$ in labor and hold on.. 6.000$ in taxes for a 116-170 hp gain. So to do it legal just isn't working out. We are then talking 8.500$, and that's before you buy a single part. Comparing with the Supra is probably a bad idea. Celica and Supra are two very different cars, and they are using two completely different engine types. -------------------- |
