i just recently got a new power window motor for the back passenger side, now the driver back side motor goes bad. I just want to do the replacement of motors myself if possible. I been lookin on the net and the fourms, and i couldn't find any guides to replace a power window motor. dont know what the price would be either, since i went though my warranty and it cost 100 bucks for each visit or something. help would be suggested, its a 96 gt convt

i got the toyota repair manual for the convertible i'll try to scan them later.
is the problem with the motor or the switch? bcuz if the window only goes one way or works half the time then its most likely the switch. the switch will run you ~$70 each from toyota. |

After I did the bodywork to my car and put it back together, my passenger side window would not go down. I almost bought a new motor, but I decided to give it a look myself. It is very hard to get to, but I got to it took it apart, hit it on something, and it worked. It could be that the teeth on the motor's gear have skipped or something. It's worth checking out dude, cuz window motors for celica's are not cheap.
