Just checking if anyone in here have some knowledge about the second generation RX-7s.. I'm thinking of buying one as a second car.
The only thing I know is that it's a 87-mod RX-7 with a 1.3 litre Wankel (rotary)engine. Getting a bit confused over the naming though. We have the FC, FD, FD3S and probably alot more.. What is what? I know they come from about 150 hp, and all the way up to 210+ hp. Google will only give me japanese pages and people who sell stuff. I know I used to have some information pages about the old Mazdas, but can't find them anymore. -------------------- ![]() |

they come in N/A models and the T2 models if your refering to second gens and the are commonley refered as FC's.
Rotarys are just about good to 100k after that point they need a rebuild or they will blow up. The N/A model is real peppy (150hp), the T2 is insanly fast for what it is(230hp). Be prepared not to haul anything around and have no extra space what so ever. If you know rotarys or are willing to learn, or have a mechinc that is fully trained in them get one, if not dont even get near one. My buddy has a T2 which hes selling and its been the car from hell, 2 engines, 4 turbos, blowing random things all the time. Rotarys / RX7's require full time maintence and be prepared to replace anything at anytime. DTE -------------------- I am a thief.
do not buy anything from me. |

DTE 230 hp with a turbo was on the 93+ models, and I believe in 94 or 95 it was boosted to 255. I looked at an 87 t2 and when I researched it they only claimed 180 hp, and depending on where you looked 130-140 for the NA. Great cars though, very fun -------------------- 1999 Celica GT
