Yes i did a search and did some research before i posted this one up. Its another annoying squeeking noise when im driving. it stops squeeking when im braking but it sounds like the car is winding down. Squeeks around 20mph or less in the rear. I just got new back rotors, mechanics said brakes have allot of beef on em so no need to change em. Im frustrated of going back to the mechanics every weekend and having them find it to no avail and making me feel stupid, even when i took them on a drive and of course no squeeks! I removed the hatch cover brackets since i noticed those were loose and made noises. I took out every plastic panel imaginable and removed every small piece laying around. Can anyone relate to this or am i just crazy.

Yes there is...i just had this problem and was pissed becuase i sounded like a deush bag drivin down the street...but all i did was get new pads from advanced auto...they were about 90 bucks...they were the "Bendix import quites" I just got them put on yesterday the 12th and since thenthere have been absolutely no problems with squeaking what so ever!
And by the way how much have u guys spent on replacing your brakes? I got charged about $150 to have them put on...and i spent another 90 for the pads! Does this sound right? |

Yea i know......i got ripped for labor on those brakes but oh well.....i guess ill just have to learn how to do it myself....Yes, LewFX i would change ur brake pads b/c it worked for me and also because as it is said that our brakes from the factory have issues with sqeeking....
QUOTE I was told that it's just how Toyota made the brakes before the 2000 models. I just think that's how the brakes are. Maybe if you change the brake pads to something other then stocked, it'll solve the problem. I was stupid and had my mechanic just change the brake pads, and he changed to a replacement factory brake pads, so I have the same problem as before. Since I paid for the brake pads, I'll just use it til it goes out. Dont wanna waste my money like that. so yes i would get some new brakes and make sure not to get the stock replacemnets...it said on the box that my brake pads were in that they were "oem" replacements which means that they were the stock brakes but they were the "quiets" which i had to pay extra for so as long as u dont get specifaclly oem brakes u will be fine! |
