As I am in the process of painting and putting on my kit, I have a bodyshop friend of mine helping me quite a bit. Apparently, the best thing to use is a special kind of autobody epoxy. Holds better than tape and holds it tighter to the car so in the end, better looking. Not sure of the price compared to the tape.
