So the engine is rebuilt, installed in the car, goodies installed: light fly, ACT stage 1 clutch, KDB 4-2-1 tri "Y" header, Megasquirt'n'Spark, Ford EDIS, Ford Coilpack, ford 36-1 crank trigger wheel, B18C plug wires, TRD .5mm headgasket, custom waterline relocation kit, etc etc... Now to the wiring. Dropping in the engine is the EASY part.
Let me start by saying Megasquirt wiring is EXTREMELY easy compared to the stock ECU... so don't underestimate the headache. Enjoy... This post has been edited by Kwanza26: Jun 7, 2005 - 10:26 PM -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"

That's all very reassuring. I can't wait to get started on my 3S. Where did you buy your megasquirt and EDIS at?

EDIS can be found in just about all 90's Ford Escorts in the junkyard. EDIS is probably the only cool thing Ford ever came up with... ;] Check here for exactly what you need: http://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/extra/ed...hatyouneed.html As for the Megasquirt, you'll need a slightly modified version of the megasquirt board. There are a couple of changes made to the resistors inside the unit. I don't know exactly what, but not just any old Megasquirt ECU will work with the EDIS set-up. Gotta be Megasquirt and Spark (MSnS). I bought mine fully assembled and set-up for MSnS... all I did was load up the firmware and got it ready to go. They usually go for around 120-150 un-assembled, and 250-400 assembled. I'm not confident enough with my electrical skills to try and build one, but I hear it's very easy and the instructions are very good. QUOTE(Fox-N-It2) Can I get a pic of your mounting of the EDIS wheel and sensor. I'm looking for ideas on how to mount mine. I'll try and get some pictures for you tomorrow. On a side note, after 2 days of fumbling around unable to get the injectors to open, got everything working today and got the engine up and running... =] Gonna finish up the harness then it's time for some tuning. -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... That's all good information but I already knew that . I was just wondering where exactly you bought yours from. What happened to be the problem with the injectors? In that case... ;] http://forums.club4ag.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=109013 And that dude Gary, aka distortionwarrior, is EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable about this stuff also. If all sellers were like him, there wouldn't be any problems doing buisness... ;] As for the injectors... not sure what the problem was. I didn't touch the injector wiring; all I did was shield the PIP and SAW wires going to the EDIS module... then the injectors just started working...??? I don't care so long as it works... ;] This post has been edited by Kwanza26: Jun 10, 2005 - 6:36 PM -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"
