So the engine is rebuilt, installed in the car, goodies installed: light fly, ACT stage 1 clutch, KDB 4-2-1 tri "Y" header, Megasquirt'n'Spark, Ford EDIS, Ford Coilpack, ford 36-1 crank trigger wheel, B18C plug wires, TRD .5mm headgasket, custom waterline relocation kit, etc etc... Now to the wiring. Dropping in the engine is the EASY part.
Let me start by saying Megasquirt wiring is EXTREMELY easy compared to the stock ECU... so don't underestimate the headache. Enjoy... This post has been edited by Kwanza26: Jun 7, 2005 - 10:26 PM -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"

I apologize for these questions, but I have not been following this swap. What engine is that out of, and what are you estimated specs? Also, please explain the EDIS. And a HUGE comment on only putting things in the engine bay that need to be in the engine bay. Engine and engine contributes (fuel, exaust, intake, ;ignition). After you are finished, you should balance out the car, more than likely, relocation of the battery will occour.

QUOTE(Fox-N-It2) Any pics of that trigger wheel setup yet wink.gif Greetings from Missouri... =] I'm out of town right now (on a roadtrip), but I did take pictures of the trigger wheel and VR sensor set-up. Only problem, I haven't uploaded anything yet. I do have some various shots that do show the outside of the motor I took a long while ago. I don't think anyone has been following anything more that I've mentioned so far. ;] Umm... basically it's a 4AGE 20V in my RWD Corolla... modified cooling system, some basic modifications, and standalone ecu with EDIS distributor-less ignition. The "swapping" part is very easy, and will more-or-less be a direct drop in for the Celica ST. The wiring part too, is farily easy, and very straight-foreward, even easier because you can use the stock ignition parts in the Celica. The beauty of the swap is the tunability... I would expect something around 130-140whp out of this swap, but chances are the engine is gonna be further modified by the time I get finished. To close... the engine now runs and needs tuning... that's gotta wait till I get back in a week or two. Megat Tweak 3k will be a good friend of your now. Get to know him becaus your gonna spend a few days with him. I've been tuning my car all week and I now have it very nice in the cruise rpm's hitting 14.7AFR's on the LM-1 wideband. I could prolly lean it out a bit more but boost is comming. Make sure you read the documentation that comes with MST3K it has very useful info reguarding EGO feedback and tuning for low and high rpm's. Do you haev a wideband? Nows the time Innovate's LC-1 would be a good solution. You setup looks good man and it should make that corolla come out of some turns sideways |
