Ok so I've been reading some random things online and some of it bugs me. Even the game review writers are being ignorant about some of the facts and histories of games.
I hope you all know that Need for Speed Underground wasn't the first Need for Speed right? It's actually like the 7th, and the origin of the series was to make a fairly realistic game rather than an arcade-style one. And that the 3 PS2 Grand Theft Auto games were each based off of a city in the original GTA? all pretty trivial stuff but it just bugs me that people don't know some of this stuff -------------------- 1999 Celica GT

QUOTE(pr_caralho @ Jun 17, 2005 - 11:27 PM) nah bro the colecovision hahahaha, but seriously theres to many games out there made by too many companies and at least 50 percent of them are either alike or crap, To me the best video game developers are nintendo, cause they can make anything into something real good... systems like xbox, to me its like there trying too hard to beaT sony.... but seriously no game revolutionizes games like mario 1 did cmon... I thought this was about knowing your roots? Do you know where we'd be without the Magnavox Odyssey? Do you remember the phenomenon we know as PONG? What about Splatterhouse for TurboGrafx16. Both revolutionized video games. PONG introduced kids to video games and believe it or not those kids are responsible for the games we play today. Splatterhouse was one of the most controversial violent game to exist and to be honest, without it I think we'd all be playing the 18th sequel to Strawberry Shortcake from the Atari 2600. Hell I even worked at a game store for about a year! Talk about not knowing your roots. Why has there been no mention of the Master System, ColecoVision, Magnavox Odyssey, or the TurboGrafx16? Because those systems sucked. Did you even read the Title of this Topic? Can you tell me why each one sucked?
