Seems you all need to get another hobby
![]() There's a big difference between racing and driving fast. I drive almost a hundred miles a day - all PA turnpike. Almost everyday I have some idiot trying to slice and dice his way into traffic. 99% of the time they drive themselves into a traffic jam and I end up passing them anyway. If you try to measure your celica by your "off the line through 1/4 mile" speed/time - well then our cars suck - the real torque only kicks in past 3500 RPM - so Celica acceleration is in spurts,(especially us manual transmission folks) I haven't found many vehicles willing to keep up with me in that 80-110mph range. Many times it's because they don't have the power, but I'm sure many times it's that they are just pussys and are afraid to stay at 100 miles an hour for more than a few seconds. Just yesterday a 350Z and I were cruising - now this is a vehicle w/ 290HP and 0-60 in under 6 seconds. He had a very hard time leaving me in the dust, even with those stats vs. my 140HP GT. Bottom Line - we don't buy these vehicles for 1/4 mile speed, if you want that, you won't get this style, you won't get this gas mileage, and you'll have to get another car loan. ![]() |
