Hi everyone, I know this gets posted allot so I will be straight forward and give you all my information and what I require.
I just purchased today a nice pair of subs, or so I think...lol, Well this is what I got: 2 10" Infinity 1030w subs 250w RMS and 1000 MAX 1 MTX MXA6001 class D mono amp to power them 300RMS @ 4Ohms, 600RMS @ 2Ohms There in a sealed box by the way This is what I would like to know: 1) What gauge wire should I use to hook from the subs to the amp? 2) What gauge wire I should use for the remote turn on? 3) Where is a good place to ground the amp? 4) What would be a good RCA cable to use? Should it have features like twisted or super shielded...lol...I duno just giving examples to help better answer my question. 5) Since the subs are only 250RMS would it be better for me to wire them in 4Ohm, or 2Ohm based on what the amp provides. 6) What style fuse should I use, AGU or ANL? And what AMP rating? 7) Last if anyone can give me some ideas on how I should run my wiring across the celi, through the center console, or side panels? Id be happy ![]() If anyone could help me with these many but hopefully simple to answer questions that would be awesome. I am a newbie at this but I enjoy a challenge. |

Great!!!....but now there is one thing that has confused me from your reply...lol...umm you suggest that I wire them in parallel to get the 2ohm load, which will put out 600 watts from the amp I have RMS. Since the subs take 250 RMS would it not make more sense to just directly connect each sub to the 4 terminals on the amp and give them a 4ohm load with 300 RMS. (there are 4 wire terminals on my Class D mono block amp, a right + and - and a left + and -)
(My words may not be so clear here...or confusing...lol) Or does the wattage from the amp split as it goes to each sub... by which i mean if hooked up in 2ohm 600RMS each sub receives 300RMS, and if hooked up in 4ohm 300RMS each sub receives 150RMS. But I don’t think that’s how that works... So if you could direct me here that'd be great...sorry if I confuted you at all...I have some minor knowledge...but not allot...as you can tell...lol Also i just checked out the Wal-Mart kit online...do you think that that RCA cable will work good for me...I don’t want one that will pick up distortion. Also it comes with a 100 amp fuse is that too much for my 60 amp rated Amp??? |
