so, some of you may or may not know what's been going on w/ my celica for the past month. for those that don't, i had to completely revamp the transmission, because of a broken motor mount on the bellhousing side. seeing as how the transmission case was broken, i had only 2 options: get it welded, or replace the bellhousing. since both options included tearing the tranny off, i opted for the more effective and safe option.
keep in mind, this was all sparked by throwing 3 axles in a matter of 2 weeks. this same problem also sparked me to get rid of everything on my car, and make a little money, and put the car back to stock in preparation to sell it. here are some fun, and no so fun, pictures... involved in the process: pulling donor transmission, splitting donor transmission, pulling celica transmission, splitting celica transmission, making frankentranny using celica gears and donor bellhousing, replacing master-to-slave cylinder line, replacing axles, installing full stock suspension, installing stock taillights, figuring out a headlight situation for the time being, and probably a few other things... 1 month ago, disassembled, and parts sold: donor transmission off 88/89 Corolla: -tearing the bellhousing off: -inside the transmission: stock parts arive: transmission off the celica: transmission apart, and reassembled using good bellhousing, and reinstalled: front end together, and on the ground: finally on all 4s again, and mostly together(sans headlights): and i know you're jealous of what i'm using for headlights...dont hate. sooooo, there's the past month for me. took so long, because i had to source the transmission, go to a junk yard and pull it, come home and disassemble it, etc etc etc. all while working 30+ hours, and starting back to school. all that's left now, is to get the headlights of course, but also, i need to bleed the rear passenger drum, as that line broke, and i had to replace it. it's hard though, because the bleeder valve is stripped. . it'll be back together soon, and i can get rid of this shat-box...i'm just happy that for the time being, i have all 4 motor mounts, and no longer just 3. . -John- This post has been edited by Mynzeyes: Jun 21, 2005 - 11:16 PM -------------------- |
