I've got a 94 GT with the 2.2 liter. I've got an oil leak somewere on the passanger side of the engine. I've replaced the gasket around the cam, and the value cover gasket. I know this is a normal problem for the 2.2's. My uncle said he has a lady coming in the shop with week with a Camry that is showing a leak somewere around the same place. My question is, has anyone found out what this is that leaks? I can replace gaskets one after the other, but it'd be nice to know what's there. I'm going to put some dye in it so I can see the leak under a black light. So if no one can tell me were it's at, I'll be back to post and tell everyone else were it's at. If this is as common as I think it is, everyone should know.

Also. I know there's something that always breaks on the ingition system that's commonly misdiagnoesed on these 2.2's. I'll ask my uncle what that is. If the modderates won't put up a Common Problems forum, I'll try to start my own.

OMG i have had the same problem like FOREVER and i could never figure it out, well finally i got it, its the oil pump leaking and the timing belt cover so its about $1300.00 to fix

That sounds like it could be it. Thanks for the info. Sorry it cost you so much. I doubt it'll take more than the price of the gasket for me to fix it. It's amazing the price these machanics charge. I know my uncle never charges that much for anything. That's probably why he's so bussy all the time. That, and he fixes everything right. Unlike my dad. Dad haffway does everything, the idiot.

I have the same leak... comming from under the headers. where the head and the block connect. Also some oil from the seal between the engine and the tranny.

only time i lose oil is on long highway drives. other then that there is little to no consumption

just not worth it to fix. i will wait till it starts leaking 24/7.... then an engine rebuild/replace would suffice.

That's your head gasket. That should cost a pretty penny. It's not the same leak as me. Mines on the back side, on the passengers side. But you should aways fix and oil leak. It could cause a lot of problems.
