Well one day my system just stopped working altogether. First thing I suspected was RCA wires/jacks. I bought new wires and tested them. Nothing. So I tested it with a different CD player. Nothing. I've taken the sub out of the box and inspected it, and it has no signs of being blown. It's a 800W max. sub bridged to a 2-channel 400W amp. I checked all connections between the amp and the sub, along with all the fuses, and everything looks fine. I also checked to see if the amp is getting power, and it is. I'm just not getting any boom boom!

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Note that the amp isn't generating any heat whatsoever, but I wouldn't think that it would in the first place if it's not having to use any power other than being turned on.

it doesn't have to be "blown". The coil can break anytime from all that moving up and down, altho it doesn't happen very often. troubleshoot, try any speaker see if that one works. Ur problem is a simple one to find.

also, a 400w "max" amp can blow a 800w max sub when driven into clipping. (when it distorts like a mofo)
