Alright I was at the races over the weekend and got beat pretty bad by a 378rwhp 726 rwtq (I believe that is what he said he dyno'd at CP earlier that night) diesel Chevy, go figure, I also ran a Cobalt SS, I got 1st and 2nd gear by third he caught up and by 4th he blew past me like he was spraying and beat me by 2 car lengths, the next race was against a Cherokee 4.0 Litre V6, no contest I won by almost 10 lengths (sad thing was he beat every Accord out there first).

Last weekend I ran a lightly modded MX-6 V6 and matched him (35mph roll, if it was from a stop I know I would have won), the second run was against a built D16 (I don't know Hondas very well but it said VTEC on the valve cover) 4 door that got me by a half length the first time, I won the second run with him (it was close but that's what everyone was saying, the last run was a 25mph roll against a well modded LS Civic coupe (everyone said he was putting out 170 to the wheels) he got me by a good car length when I hit fifth. The road we ran on was every bit of a quarter mile so it was a fair run.

The Cobalt was a 3 run race because he kept missing second and I don't like to claim wins on BS like missed shifts. I did get to cruise with a 525 rwhp 350Z twin turbo that will be in Import Mag soon, he just finished shooting.

I'm really close to tearing my head apart to find out my specs because a lot of people on here have the 5SFE and complain because they can't beat a D16 with a couple of bolt ons, I ran with one with a built head, intake, full exhaust, and was lightend to 2400 lbs. so that will be my project when I get a beater (hopefully this winter).
My next races are against a Suzuki Reno (when he gets his bolt ons), then an Eclipse GS-T with a Big 16G upgrade (after I get my 75 shot).

I wasn't laughing at the Diesel, we got a couple of thousand horsepower trucks in Charlotte that run consistant low 7's in the 1/8th (not bad for 8,000lbs.), i'm going to try and get a dyno run in this weekend, if my pay is well enough, who knows I might only make 115whp, but it's kind of odd that I can run with that Jetta in my other post and yes I know the 2.0 in it came with crappier numbers than the ST but the guy has a lot done and is confident enough to say he's putting around 130whp and the weight of the two cars are within 200 lbs. of eachother.
BTW I asked the guy who owned the Civic, it's a 1.6 VTEC with a built bottom end, full exhaust, obviously from the pics an AEM cold air and minor head work, and the body was lightend to around 2,400lbs. by replacing most of the body panels, stripping a lot of the interior, and taking out most of the unecessary stuff (i.e. race battery was added, A/C, aftermarket radiator 12x16 I think, etc.) and believe me the guys a good driver (nevermind the e-brake thing he was just being stupid then). As far as the conversion as I said before $$$, I got everything else figured out as far as I could, it's getting done but when most of my $800 a week is going to support my family (18 year old brother, 47 year old uncle, and his 12 year old son), it's a little hard, it's alright their getting cut off soon because my uncle makes as much as me and my brother is making $10 an hour spot welding and they've been riding my income for months and blowing theirs on beer, weed, and other crap.

I wasn't implying that you're laughing at the diesel... I was just giving an example of a decently quick diesel.

And you believe him because this guy speaks the HONEST truth huh? Trust me dude... he doesn't have anything built. At best, he stripped the interior and is running basic bolt-ons. When I talk about building the bottom-end... I'm talking about pistons, rods, rod bearings, reinforced crank girdle, performance oil pump, etc.

Nothing against the guy... but a so-called "built" D16... who cares. At best, that motor can manage 140-150 whp fully built n/a (pistons, cam, headwork, ITBs, ECU tuning, etc)... That's nothing to laugh at, considering the engine, but it's not all that impressive either (btw, 140-150 whp in a typical 2 door Civic is nearly a 14 second car). Like I usually say, people have different ideas on speed, but until you race an import 4 banger that is really fast... you won't understand. People talk and talk... that's all they do. Especially around the guys, people talk. I'd prefer to just put up and shut up. As the old proverb goes, you have two eyes, two ears, and one mouth. See twice, listen twice, and speak once. Actions always speak louder than words.

Oh, be sure to get a print out of your dyno. It'll really kill the spirit if all you come back with is word of mouth.
