Well, after the long painstaking process of bringing my car back to life from total'd state, the kit is back molded and everything. I am presented with the option of painting my car a different color. The only thing is, they want to charge extra to paint the white doorjams the new color. So, would white doorjams be ok on a diff color car or not(who really sees your door jams anyways?) Anyways, here's a pic of my car. What color do you see it being?

I love a good, rich metallic blue, say a half a shade darker than the Subaru WRX blue.
Unless you're getting a complete re-paint, including colour-appropriate primer, remember having the white colour underneath will influence the look of the new paint job, probably about a shade lighter than the paint chip. Before you take it in, disassemble the car as much as you can. Bumpers, lights, signals, trim, door panels, weatherstripping, sill plates -- basically anything that touches the exterior colour. That way when they paint you'll get a better job with cleaner seams, and the paint will end underneath those trim pieces, and therefore the border will be invisible when you put it all back together. One question -- engine bay colour? |
