my trans has taken a dump. i need to find a trans and i was wondering about getting a lsd trans. but there in mr2 right? what year would i have to get to bolt up on. i have a 5sfe and i need to find a strong trans. any info will be helpful.

isnt lsd better to have?

if you have the 5s, there is really no NEED for lsd. the 93+ lsd tranny will prolly cost you around 800-1100 plus the install, axels ect.
a used 5s tranny prolly cost a couple hundred bucks. total. wink.gif

so u think buying a used trans will do fine but it has to have low miles of course is there anything u can do to that tranny like on upgrading it and rebuilding it???

"upgrading" a tranny costs a lot of money. Gotta figure in the rebuild, the "upgraded" parts, all of that stuff...

On a side note... what's worth mentioning about "upgraded" trannies when you're not even sure what there is the "upgrade"? Trannies work their best when they're matched to an engine's power delivery. If you have a stock engine... an "upgraded tranny", let's say upgraded with shorter gearing, smaller final drive and LSD, isn't gonna help you accelerate that much faster. You'll run out of gears faster, move through the rpm band faster... but you won't be sitting in your torque range.
