Ok. I've got a 97 celica with the 7a-fe engine. It's a high milage engine, but it was been taken care of since birth.. haha. Anyway, I earn for more power but don't have the resorces or time for a 3s-gte swap. On the other hand, turbocharging is a very reasonable idea.. My question concerns the strength of the 7a internals. How much boost can they handle? Would it be a good idea to rebuild the engine with forged internals before turbocharging? What would be the best way to supply the extra needed fuel for the boost? Thanx for any help, I'm a little new with the aftermarket.

QUOTE(StreetRacing10PSI @ Aug 22, 2005 - 12:09 AM) i have the stock internals on my 7afte and at 8PSI it runs fine. if u want more then that u have to go forged because the rods are too weak. and even with forged internals only plan on 15 lbs of boost cuz the cranks in the 7A's arnt that great. the 7a crank has seen 300 horse on a 7agte QUOTE(punkrocknurmama @ Aug 22, 2005 - 12:23 AM) Thanks for the help. A few more questions real quick. I don't have dreams of a demon street car or anything like that. I'm looking to run around 175hp on the street. What kind of boost will it take to get there? Can the stock internals handle that? The 105 hp merely don't hold it's own against the cars in this area... look in the how to section i wrote up one on turboing a 7afe my old kit is now on StreetRacing10PSI's car now if you have anymore questions on this just pm me and look in my 7agte build dairy there you will see a built 7a bottom end -------------------- yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte
