Today got my second ticket for speeding since i got my car (this time only for 10!!! i repeat, 10 mph over the limit unlike the last one which was 23 over) so now I'm looking into getting a radar detector but dont know which one to get. Anyone have one that they really like and suggest? I know there's some that u can get which block some radar stuff but i dont think those are legal here in CA...

i got this one $30 "fox" brand radar detector off of the internet. it picks up x, k ,ka (i think those are the right letters, lol) , and laser. It beeps when it detects something and beeps faster when ur getting closer. theres also leds on there that correspond to the different radars. i got it after i got my 2nd speeding ticket, which was last year, and i havent gotten one since. the only problem is that there are alot of false alarms, but i seem to be use to it. a major plus is that its battery is solar charged (theres a solar cell right on top) and i dont need to plug it in to anything. as for those $500 radar scramblers.....yea they're illegal here in so cal. but so were just regular radar detectors a while ago, so i wouldn't worry bout it. just dont make it too obvious and have it sitting right above your dash when the cop pulls u over, lol. biggrin.gif
