a lot of people here do a lot of engine mods, exterior mods and even swaps... so, to all those out there who have engine work or exterior mods or engine swaps, did you tell your insurance company?
if you did tell, did you have to go on a special policy (ie hot rodders insurance for swapped engines, or increased premiums for exterior/engine work?) or have any of you been in an accident involving insurance, where you didn't tell them about your mods? did they pay for the claim? or were you black listed after? My car was totalled out a couple months ago. I never reported my modifications to my insurance company and the agent who came and looked at my car could obviously tell that the car was modified but said nothing about it and I had no troubles from my insurance company. Within a couple days I got a check from them.
