Today got my second ticket for speeding since i got my car (this time only for 10!!! i repeat, 10 mph over the limit unlike the last one which was 23 over) so now I'm looking into getting a radar detector but dont know which one to get. Anyone have one that they really like and suggest? I know there's some that u can get which block some radar stuff but i dont think those are legal here in CA...

I agree also that it is a false sense of security. It doesn't prevent you from getting a ticket. Cops have other ways of finding your speed, such as driving in back of you and going the same speed as you. Also they may turn it on all of a sudden so that you won't have enought time to react. It's also been rumored that they can calculate your speed by seeing how quickly you go through two points, and give you a ticket based on that. It also won't get you out of ticket if you did a "California" stop, or made an illegal turn. But it does kinda give you more of a heads up, and is a reminder for me to check my driving habits, which i definitely need cuz i used to speed like crazy. biggrin.gif

As for where i found my detector.....I don't remember the site anymore frown.gif sorry, but i'm pretty sure you can find it on ebay. tongue.gif
