Yay. my! car is running again. I installed a timing belt, water pump and a new power steering belt. The job was not that hard. I used all 3 celica manuals and picked up tips from all 3. The hardest part was trying to remove the crankshaft pulley without a crankshaft pulley holding tool. After a day of trying all kinds of different things, a friend said why dont I just use his impact wrench. It came off in seconds! The next hardest thing was, the books did not call out a bolt that was under the engine mounting bracket. Its there. removing the engine mounts was easy, and I had to jack the engine up and down to get to bolts from the bottom and the top of the car. Use a hydraulic jack. Other then that, its not hard and i consider myself more of a body man then a mechanic.

do you just slap the new belt on or do you have to make marks one where the old one came off and the number of grooves between the gears?

you put the engine at TDC and pull old one off and then put the new one on without moving the crank or the cam to much.
