Ok I have read alot of old projector posts. One post brought up the subject of wiring the turn/parking accent light in the low beam projectors, but nothing helpful.
I decided to make the light a parking light and to make the bulb amber. Coincidently, the existing side parking light plug seems like it would fit into the projector accent light plug-in(sort of). The stock turn signal plug has a plastic casing around the connector and if it is "removed" I am pretty sure it would fit. Anyways, my plan is to get a hold of that stck parking signal connector, via toyota or junkyard, cut the plastic I need to cut...etc. Is there an easier way of doing this? For instance, is their a plug I can get from Autozone/pepboys that would fit? I was close to just sotering two wires into the two metal prongs inside the accent light plug, but I thought twice. I would appreciate any direction on this. If there is a previous "helpful" post, can someone direct me to it. And I do apologize if a previous post exists, I too get a little annoyed when people do not use the search toolbar... I tried though Thanks guys/gals -------------------- |

UPDATE: Went to toyota and got the answer I was expecting. They could only order the entire wire harness, which (he said) would prob run me $1500! After I was done laughing I thanked him and left.
So I recommend everyone to go to a junk yard and get something that will fit. They do exist but I was pressed for time so I was unable to look for one. Y? SECRET So here is my quick and inexpensive solution! When one purchases projector headlights they must modify the low beam harness connections. Go to Pepboys and ask for H4 bulb connectors (~$19), which they have. You cut off your stock connectors and install these H4 connectors. Since you have these "seemly useless" stock connectors, you throw them away. right? WRONG! Make use of your stock low beams bulb connectors by doing the following: Take off the back end off the main plastic cover of the connectors; after which you should see the white & red wires still sticking out. Next, simply pull them out (will take some muscle) and you should have a positve + negative metal connectors left (much like what mark_426 showed, except both are female connectors). These two connectors fit perfectly in the two protuding prongs of the accent light. Not only that, you can "krimp" the connectors tighter so that fit very securely onto the accent prongs. See picture. This post has been edited by UTSlickVic: Sep 4, 2005 - 11:45 PM -------------------- |
