Well Im not sure what these cars are, I might nned help from the people over seas. I was searching thru the Varis site and as i was looking at our st20X cars, i notice these 2 other cars came up. ED st20# and the EXIV st20#
Here in this pic I thought for a second it might be the JDM version of a Camry? But then here this almost looks like a 4 door skyline gts (must be the eyeline/lids), with celica coupe tails. Or a hybrid with a soarer rear and coupe tails. Would some of these parts be interchangeable with our 2dr celis? WAIT!!.... B4 the flaming begins, yes a 2 dr and 4dr are a lil bit different in length or depth, what ever, I am asking about performance parts, ie: suspension, engine, etc.... not really too much exterior. Maybe the rear will match a coupe and a hood for the curren, i dunno. Just sharing with the group what i found. Thanks, David |

For the record-
The top is a Carina ED (ed was short for exciting dressy in the marketing of the car), the bottom is a Corona EXiV (short for extra impressive in it's marketing). they correspond pretty much as what a 4 door celica would be- think integra 4 door. ED is a pre facelift ST2XX, the EXiV a post facelift ST2XX in the pictures... these cars have exclusively been part of the ST chassis line, meaning they share with the corresponding celica generations- Not the Chaser/Mark II line that was previously mentioned... the ED was first released in late 85, chassis codes ST160, and ST162. The only models of interest were the 162's, which had the 3S-GE motor (early models 160 ps, later models 140ps). These models were refferred to as G and G limited. This chassis code lated until 89. In late 89, the ST180, 181, 182, and 183 arrived. Odd numbered cars have 4WS. 82's and 83's have the 3S-GE again, now with 165 PS. The EXiV also made it's debut (sp), it's performance offering being the TR-G. The ED was the sporty model, the EXiV, more luxury oriented, with significantly diffent styling. TEMS was available in these models. Late 93 brought the ST200, 2001, 2002, and 2003 models. Only some 2002 chassis codes now came with 3S-GE power (180ps man, 170ps auto) Both models now had closer resemblance to one another, with only subtle detail changes. odd numbers again designate 4WS. Super Strut suspention is in the top grade performace models. Soon after introduction, 4WD was added to the lineup for 3S-GE models, but dropping power down to 175 ps, and 165 ps for maual and auto transmissions. In the EXiV, the performance models became 200GT, and GT-4WD. In the ED, they became the limited-4WD at first, then GT and GT-4WD. All 4WD versions have chassis code ST205, and carry super strut suspention... This is all I know about the ED and EXiV. Same engines as JDM celica models for the same chassis codes, so performance parts should be interchageable for same engines, although no 4A-GE models were made for the ST16 chassis, and no 3S-GTE ever from the factory This post has been edited by saleeka: Sep 6, 2005 - 11:15 PM -------------------- Car #3: 98 Accord LX- purchased 5/06, totaled 8/06
