I'm pretty much new to driving stick (learned a week ago), but something seems wrong when I'm crusing on the freeway on 5th gear. Is it normal for me to be getting around 3,000-3,200 RPM going around 60-65 mph? It just seems a little high compared to my now-scrapped automatic eclipse which got around mid 2,000's at those speeds.

Well, now that I currently own both an Auto and Manual 1995 GT Celicas, here are my observations:
GT Auto at 80 mph ~ 3,100 RPM GT Manual at 80 mph - almost 4,000 RPM So, there is nothing to worry about here with the manaul? Someone explain this. Thanks. |

The auto and manual are geared differently because the auto is technically only a 4 speed. -------------------- 1999 Celica GT
