Hi,
need some help,
i have an amp that was working fine until a few days ago.. suddenly it just went out, i checked the positive and negative wires and everything looks fine, i checked the fuse on the amp and on the wire to the battery and they both seem fine although i wouldnt know how you can tell if the fuses are blown, one is a 50 amp fuse and the other one is a 60 amp fuse,, the system has been working great for a couple of months now and has never given me any problems, the amp is not turning on at all.. could someone just give me some troubleshooting tips please>?? thansk a milion..
if i can at least have amp turn on i can see what is going on..
thanks

How could it be remote? It has been working fine and all of a sudden dies...that's not a remote wire issue becuase they aren't that touchy where they will work fine and then not all of a sudden. Unless your 12V touched your ground your amp fuse shouldn't blow...if you are blowing the fuse that's in your amp then you need a new amp or need to learn how to be careful when wiring stuff. If the in-line fuse is blown, then you need bigger guage power and ground wire. If none of those are your issue, then you need to reground. Make sure to grind down a 1cm circle where you will be screwing in the ground so it is bare metal, use a self tapping screw with a big head and always use a star washer as well to make sure it grabs really well. Remember, pressure over speed when drilling. I see so many people that come into our shop saying their stuff doesn't work but it's because their ground is lose since they don't know how to drill properly. Anyways, just follow what I said and you should be good. If that still doesn't help, post what amp you have and how big of wiring you are using. That can be an issue as well. Running big amps on small wiring is another big issue since people want to save that extra 40 bucks and do it incorrectly.

Sorry if I seem irritated, but it's because I am. I hate when people answer questions on here with simple non-explanatory answers. It makes it harder for me and the few others on here that actually know what they're talking about to help.
