Now that I am back from holidays, I can work on the car. I started the wiring at 9am this morning.
I had previously done most of the work but was unsure of a few wires coming out of the ECU. Having the JDM BEAMS manual made a big difference. I never ever had to worry about it being written in Japanese. All the plugs are labeled in english and the pin numbers are also in english. This made things easy to follow. I used my 94 manual and also a 97 manual to cross reference all the wires. It turns out that those wires I was so concerned about go to a data port located inside the car beside the ECU. It turns out that my car is a few years to old and did not have that port. I choose to ignore those wires and not install the port; at least not now anyways. The wiring is complete and wrapped. (3pm) The motor now goes into the car. This post has been edited by Outsider: Sep 10, 2005 - 10:36 PM -------------------- 1994 GT-S (BEAMS) swap complete |

You can actually order a blank OBD II port for that car through Toyota for less than 100 dollars if you want it. It will allow you to do advanced diagnostics and will probably come in handy when/if you have any problems when you first start tuning the engine and troubleshooting.
