Do it right or don't do it at all....
you may invest 1k on exhaust and intake now and only gain 12hp or so off it but if you keep adding more mods over time eventually it will have a domino effect and you will gain more OVERALL hp in the long run. The best way to make more power is more air/fuel. upgrading your intake and exhuast should be some of the 1st performance mods you need to do, right after an inital tuneup. after that I would upgrade the ignition system (spark plugs, wires, MDS6a, etc) then up your fuel system. after that look into a SAFC type controller to get the most out of your system. you would be surprised at how much of a difference you will notice, you might not be smoking every mustang or even civic out there but it will help. Improving your drivetrain and maybe a little wieght reduction never hurts either. it may take some time to do all this but if you set goals and stages for yourself it will go ALOT quicker than you think, also time and $ should not be your 1st priorities, the overall result should be #1 prioity, take me for example I have spent well over a year and a half researching and locating parts for my 5sfte project and now that I have pretty much everything I am getting rid of parts now for better upgraded stuff or stuff that threw trial and error (of other people) has proven to be better than what I was intending to use, and yes waiting sucks but it will be worth it when my project is completed, because I will have a VERY nice 5sfte under the hood of my celi! hehe some of you 5sfter's are gonna be jealous JK As for the electric turbo, great idea in theory..... poor product in reality Edit: BTW the Greddy SP exhaust is WELL worth the $ This post has been edited by NEVERSTOP: Oct 23, 2005 - 5:26 AM -------------------- 99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =) |
