I have a horrible feeling. I can't get the car to stop smoking in start. Lets out a nice white puff everytime..atleast it seems damn white also could be wishful thinking. Car takes a while to get to the power. I mean it has to be up to full temp to get decent power. I am fearing valve stem seals fearing them like an STD. Car has now 158,000 coolant seems to be not leaking. Changed the oil very recently and will be keeping an eye on it. Any suggestions? Note this is on the 6th gen not the 4th.

Most likely your head gasket. When you shut the car off, the pressure in the cooling system pushes a small amount of water into your combustion chamber. You start the car up, and poof, it burns off. The coolant can't really leak in while it's running, that's why it only happens at startup.
That is, if it is white smoke. If it's blue, then it's the valve stem seals most likely. -Doc -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |
