i found this product after seeing it installed on a local dsm. it takes your afm and converts it to a map signal for only 200$. problem is they dont have one for the 3sgte. i contaced the company about it and found out that they are in the process of adding 3sgte support to it. this is great news for any swaper!!! -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

QUOTE(jgreening @ Oct 25, 2005 - 1:53 PM) Interesting, but I am skeptical. that it would work or that they will make it? -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

that it would work or that they will make it? That it would work well. I do not subscribe to the school of thought that the AFM should be replaced on applications with less than 270whp. Past 300-310whp, the user SHOULD get a standalone EMS and convert to a MAP based system. From 270-310 whp, there is some debate about what can and should be done. However, if you are going with an upgraded fuel system, piecing a car together with black boxes like this thing or an AFC, timing boxes, VPC, etc. etc., you are significantly increasing the risk to your engine. The only way I would go to a setup without a standalone in this power range is if I had 540's or 550's and got a ROM tune from ATS with the AFM in place. Even then, the ATS 550 ROM tune has only been on the market a few months so the longevity has not been tested. I also have not seen many reports about how well it works except from the vendors. -------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |
