I have an oil filter relocation kit because my manifold would otherwise hit the oil filter. The other day, after driving for about 20 minutes on the freeway i see a huge amount of smoke coming from my car. i find that the oil filter kit has cracked where the lower tube pluged into the block. The kit was only a month old. What could have caused this? I don't want it to happen again with my next kit.
The oil lines ran really close too, if not touched the turbo manifold; do you think that could have overheated the oil and built up too much pressure? My oil pressure gauge didn't seem to indicate too much pressure. I assume that the oil would get just as hot at the exhaust anyways, right? Or, do you think it was defective? Could it have been over tightened? It's strange because i had used the car for a week before and didn't have any problems. Your input please?? Thanks. |

heat treaded or whatever, no oil lines/ water lines or any lines should be near or touching the manifold/downpipe. re-run them differently, ziptie them outta the way better but dont leave them to rest on the exhaust manifold.
