Well everyone I think my Celica is going to either be traded in, fixed, or I might just get a new car.
![]() If I were to describe it it's like the sound that a roller coaster makes when it's pulling you up the first hill. I took it into 'Yota' on Sat. and left it there for the wknd and I just got word from a family friend that works in the garage that 'Yota' is going to tell me I need a new engine. My friend that works there told me that his friend has an engine he could sell me for $800-$1200 with 60k on it. I believe it's just a 7afe though. ![]() I'm waiting on Toyota to call me back, so we'll see what they diagnosed. What do you all think? Is it finally time to move on and get a new car? Possibly an IS300 or a Saab Aero. ![]() I know everyone is going to say get a 3sgte right?! This post has been edited by CelicaQT: Oct 31, 2005 - 10:40 AM |

Well it's official, it's a engine rod knock. My engine was 3 qrts low on oil.
My friend that works there told me that bad bearings are common on these 7afe's. He's gone through 2 Celica's with the same issue. He said that he can put another 7afe in for me that way I won't have to pay double at Toyota if i decide to fix it. The thing is I really love my car....sucks that it's so slow, but I've had this car for 5 yrs. I hate to just let it go and move on. But eventually that's something that I had to come to at one point....this time it's now. This sucks. |
