Here's the criteria:
Sean is no longer running this...please re-submit your calendar pic submissions to ccoomer@6gc.net ASAP! 1) Photo must be hi resolution; if it's not hi res enough it simply will be thrown out- clear? This is for a print calendar- we need the best dpi possible and that means you guys submitting the best resolution pictures possible Minimum: 1725x1350 - thats only 150 dpi Max: Anything. DO NOT SCALE UP YOUR PICTURES 2) Photo must be scenic/show off the car, not your girlfriend/hired trash. Look in other calendars for examples. This includes having your trunk, doors, hood, gascap open. Don't. It's out of place. If I get 50 submissions of a car during summer, and 4 during winter with snow, which do you think are going to have better odds of getting in? 3) Photo must be emailed to ccoomer@6gc.net (by 11:59PM Nov 7th) In your email you must include: 1) Forum name 2) Real name 3) year and model of car 4) A phone number where you can be reached (I will probably not be calling any of you, as I'm antisocial; but this is for legal reasons if they crop up later and I need to get a release) PHOTOS POSTED IN THIS THREAD/ OR GALLERIES LINKED WITH A: "TAKE SOME PHOTOS FROM HERE!!" WILL NOT BE COUNTED Only photos of YOUR OWN car (or cars, if it's a group photo, but only celicas) EMAILED to the above address will be considered. Also note you may have to send me more than one email- if you're sending more than 2 photos persay- most email programs won't accept attachments above a certain amount. My email address can however take a beating, don't worry about it. once submitted, I will email you back saying I have recieved your submission If I don't, hit me up on AIM or PM just in case. On November 20th; a bunch of "finalists" will be posted for you guys to vote on. Clear? Any questions? SUBMISSIONS MUST BE EMAILED. DO NOT POST SUBMISSIONS BELOW (I will not weed through your assorted junk in this thread) If you upload the picts to a server and email me links to specific picts, thats fine One last time, thats hi quality photos, emailed to ig98 @ mac.com by Nov 14th at 11:59 PM. Q: Can I photoshop my car before enterting? A: No. No photoshops allowed. And I can tell. We'll be working with a very specific print template, and it's important I get the originals so I can color correct them and still have the prints dont decently. Q: My car isn't anything special.. so I won't submit. A: It's not how special the car is, it's how good of a photo you take. Someone might have a 3sgte swap and an awesome paint job- but they probably won't make the calendar if they take the picture in a trash dump- while you take yours against the sunset on the pacific ocean. Get my drift? Q: My car looks like **** now. I dont want to take a picture of it A: All pictures taken in 2005 are eligable. Q: I don't have email. A: PM me, we'll work something out like a spot for you to upload your photos- the point is I want your photos, and we'll work something out to get as many submissions as possible. BESIDES EMAIL, YOU COULD: 1) Upload the picts somewhere and send me links 2) Send me the pictures over AIM (file transfer only, no Direct Connect please. AIM name is ig98A) If you do either of the above, you need to send me a PM with the same information I asked you to put in the email Q: How much? A: The final calendars will be offered for your purchase AT COST Which should be around 15-17 dollars + shipping. Printing costs are still being figured out. Neither I nor coomer will be making any profit off these calendars. I tried to get Coom to take some money... but he wouldn't. Q: You're a jerk. How do I know you won't disqualify me just because you hate my guts? A: This is everyone's calendar- not just my own. We'll be picking the finalists on photo merit only- so take a good photo. Q: Will you be editing out plates? A: Yes, dont worry about your plate numbers. They are safe with me. Mwahhah Some of last years: This post has been edited by Coomer: Dec 7, 2005 - 5:34 PM |
