I spent some of my birthday Monday trying to cheer up my ex-girlfriend. Her friend was killed in a car accident. Her boy friend was racing some guy in New Orleans. Now his girl friend is dead and he probably will be charged w/ vehicle man-slaugter. He was doing over 100 when he lost control and hit another car. The seat belt broke Stephanie's neck and killed her instantly. She was suppose to start on her high school softball team this year as the lead pitcher. Being stupid and not responsible for her/his actions caused her to lose her life. Kids need to learn that cars arent play things that they are machines and can easily lead to death. If you want to race go to a track/strip and do it there. Dont endanger other peoples lives.
New Orleans Times-Picayune- A 16-year-old Slidell girl was killed late Sunday when the car in which she was riding was struck by another vehicle in eastern New Orleans, police said. Stephanie Subervielle died at Charity Hospital of head and internal injuries, said John Gagliano, chief investigator for the Orleans Parish coroner's office. The accident happened shortly after 10:30 p.m. in the 14000 block of Old Gentilly Road, police said. Subervielle was a passenger in a westbound 1996 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Brenden Mistrot, 17, police said. Mistrot apparently lost control of his car, police said, and it was hit by an eastbound 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo occupied by driver Dino Huy, 17, and a passenger. No information on Mistrot, Huy or Huy's passenger was available Monday. Police have not decided whether charges will be filed against either driver, police spokeswoman Jonette Williams said. Traffic fatality officer Vernell Brown is in charge of the investigation. |

People know there own penalties when they race on the streets and elsewhere. You can get busted, accidented and so forth. IF your racing and driving recklessly than thats your own fault. If you crash into someone else than thats your own fault as well. You can't just say that you hate street racers. If you don't like them, then go complain to the president and what not untill they ban all cars from usage. Then thats the only way that there will be no more street racers.
Lets be relastic, street racing are for those who know how to enjoy a little piece of life and thrill. Those who complain about the noise or the accidents should just not drive at all since there so afraid of being killed in one, or by one. Rules were made so that we can break them. |

Lisson, I have street raced, and I probably will again in the future, but I don't like your attitude twords it. People have a right to be safe. They have a right to drive on safe public roads at any time. They do not need to "say off them and not drive." Street racing is not cool, it's not hip, it's not going againts the rules and shaking up the system. For me, it's an addiction. I feel the need to go fast, and sometimes I feel the need when I'm not on the track. It's wrong, I know it's wrong, and I wish I never did it. Their are times and places for everything, and sometimes, street racing can have it's place, although it will never be fully safe. What if this guys girlfriends friend actually was killed in street racing? Don't you think your comments are a little insensitive? Have a heart. -------------------- Live Free, Be Happy
