Okay for those of you who REALLY know me..you should know im a dedicated Supra nut. When the Supra in 98 was discontinued I was crying..literally LOL. For a lil bit I had some hope for numerous concept cars were coming out. I knew they were all fake and began to lose hope...untill...
*glimmer of light* My friends in Toyota of Japan notified me of a project that was on the drawing board a few months ago. After a few months our suspecians came clear... The Supra is coming back. At first I was weary...because there were too many crap pictures out there...photochopped etc...but now I believe I have stumbled on it... The 2005/2006 Supra currently is a concept in Toyota of Japan. Right now styling is being debated (so far the MKV Supra would look like the Chevy SuperSport concept only in 2 door form and have a 7G Celica like front.) From what we have found we believe Toyota will announce its new Supra in new next Tokyo Motor Show. Recently, we found that the engine being debated is a 3.5 Litre Aluminum head, Aluminum Block V-6 engine rated around 300HP routed to a 6 Speed Transmission. We assume that this would be a direct competitor to the 350Z. We also assume that a turbo version may come out in future years because of Nissans "not very known" experimentation with a Supercharged G35. Complaints: The new engine is supposedly a V-6...thats going to screw the whole Supra Legacy up. Due to this..the geniuses at Toyota are debating if they will call this car the Toyota Supra after all. Design cues are calling for "retro" trying to mimic the Nissan 350Z's plan. They have called in stylist to analyze the old 2000GT design and have probobly decided to integrate a "2 circle, 2 circle" rear tailights unlike the "4 circlie, 4 circle" design incorporated in the MKIV Toyota Supra. Price: They are currently debating but right now 30K is floating. Currently Toyota has announced that they may completly remove the 2JZ-GE and stop the Inline-6 engine. An informant within Toyota (hah..you knew it was gonna leak) has notified several magazines such as Automobile...it may have a small article in there in future issues. Welcome back Supra.... ::tears:: -Nate |
