Hello all 6GCer's !!
![]() Tonight I got really bored so I decided to go see my buddy at custom light making place to see what he does. While I was there I was checking out the progress of the 94 ~ 95 clear turn signal well as other projects he had going on. Well before leaving my house I decided to bring the JDM tail light I have bought when I first got to CA & the story goes on ...... la la la Any ways I have noticed that the JDM tail light would always have amber turn signal no matter what color bulb you'll install in there, so told my buddy to open the JDM tail light to see what's going on in there ? So we opened it ! "YAY" & there was this amber lens which was hold by a screw, which wasn't hard at all to remove so he removed it. & there it was a true clear & red tail light that I have never seen on a Celica. Which made me pretty happy to tell everyone @ 6GC.net. There is a important fact on the tail lights, which is tail lights plastic is very weak / thin / softer then any plastic / lights that would be found on the Celica so please do not put your tail light in the oven to open them. If you are planning on doing this project please use a heat gun or very very hot boiling water but once again do not put these tail light in the oven. (Tail light does not handle heat well as head light would) Here are some pictures of before & after enjoy ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

nice project and execellent mod in my opinion. tail light looks so much better like this. i believe there is already a how-to about this somewhere on the forum. im surprised dustin didnt mention that. people added themselves to the "clear turn signal mod" list. however, they didn't remove the whole lens, instead, they went to the back of the light and cut onder the black plastic piece thats behind the tail light and did it from there so if water or anything ever decides to get in there, it wont go in the whole light. and you just seal that small bottom part with silicone instead of the whole lens. i believe they had pics too. i was the first to do it to the curren tail lights. very nice mod tho, agreed that it looks 10x better than with the amber. makes it look cleaner.
