Ok I have happy news the ecu on the 3sge 2nd gen operates on a 12 mhz clock. This means I can swap it for 11.0592, 11.046, 11.00, 10.73865, 10.24, 10.00. This means anywhere from a 7.84% to 16.67% gain in RPM. Now for the down side. This means a 7.84% to 16,67% gain in fuel flow rate as well. Nothing like turning a 550 supra injector into a 641.67. That will be where the fun comes in on the fuel level but is easily fixed. NOW for the really fun part the distributor! Ok so we have 2 pulse width modulation signals. One from the ECU to the distributor and one from the distributor back to the ECU. Does the ecu underclock effect these signals.? I am 99% sure they do. Ie the signal going to the dizzy will be at a reduction (opposite the injectors) whereas the signal going to the ecu will be at the correct actual engine rpm. Thoughts?
