I am considering some Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 in 235/40/17 and was wondering about fitment on a 7.5" rim. The specs on tirerack say a rim width range of 8-9.5". Anyone put oversize tires (width wise) on rims? What was your experience?

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

Should work...I used to work at a tire shop and we would sometimes install some crazy sizes onto some rims. I don't think that .5" would make much of a difference if tirerack says the minimum is 8.0". But then again, I could be wrong.

i back that up to. Working at a tire store you do some crazy things like putting fat tires on skinny wheels.
