After thinking for a while now I am dissatisfied with the celi with the 4age engine. There are just so many cars out there that can perform so much better and go so much faster. Maybe its just me and maybe its just my crappy tuning that sucked cause my car won't go any faster, but after a while. I'm begining to think that I should have never got into the Modding scene in the first place. There is no prize and there is no trophy for beating your rivals on the streets and there is no Reputation to keep when your ride gets totaled.
So basically, for those of you starting out your Modding career in the car world, keep this in mind. A stock car came in like crap to begin with, when you start out adjusting every feature in the stock car to make it look different and perform different from the rest. Your just pooring more and more cash into a car that would probbaly turn out to be different at the end and end up as something that could never quench your thirst. If you want a fast car, get one to begin with and then start modding from there. In the end, the time you waste and the efforts and money you put in will pay off. If you start with a slow car, nothing will change unless you have deep pockets. The Celica 6Gen is just not worth it to Modd nor any other cars that came in N/A with a Slow A** engine. |

Yes, your tuning probably sucks. That's not the car's fault.
I bought my celica because I really like the lines of the car. I could have bought something with higher performance but I needed a back seat and some trunk space. Even though this is my extra vehicle and not a daily driver. Price wasn't an issue. I looked at the new Zs, VW's, Hondas and in the end decided that I wanted something that stood out and I didn't see every day. The 6gen Celicas have moved me since they first came out and I always wanted one. The worth of my car goes beyond the horsepower and torque values. I know that if I wanted to I can take the car to a higher level. For right now I'm happy the way it is. I smile when I drive my Celica, that's my trophy. What's that worth? If I want to go fast I have access to a Ducati 999. Yes it's a great bike right out of the box and I can cruise at 120 no problem. I still get a great deal of satisfaction riding my older Seca II though. Since I've owned it I've done about all I can to the engine and gained about 20 horses. Not bad considering it was around 86bhp out of the factory. It took forever to get the carbs just right and tune the intake and exhaust. There's a certain joy in catching another rider off guard with that bike. I can smoke just about anyone on the Ducati, but then again they see it coming. On the Seca II noone has a clue till I light it up. |
