After thinking for a while now I am dissatisfied with the celi with the 4age engine. There are just so many cars out there that can perform so much better and go so much faster. Maybe its just me and maybe its just my crappy tuning that sucked cause my car won't go any faster, but after a while. I'm begining to think that I should have never got into the Modding scene in the first place. There is no prize and there is no trophy for beating your rivals on the streets and there is no Reputation to keep when your ride gets totaled.
So basically, for those of you starting out your Modding career in the car world, keep this in mind. A stock car came in like crap to begin with, when you start out adjusting every feature in the stock car to make it look different and perform different from the rest. Your just pooring more and more cash into a car that would probbaly turn out to be different at the end and end up as something that could never quench your thirst. If you want a fast car, get one to begin with and then start modding from there. In the end, the time you waste and the efforts and money you put in will pay off. If you start with a slow car, nothing will change unless you have deep pockets. The Celica 6Gen is just not worth it to Modd nor any other cars that came in N/A with a Slow A** engine. |

Only mistake I'll say you committed doing was not having done the research on the potential of the car, a lot of you guys are stating that you guys are satisfied with your progress on your cars but also state that there isn't much that we can do with them either when it comes to performance which is what he is realizing.
Yeah, it might of been possible that during his progress to add more performance to his car that he might of chosen wrong with the areas he might of started with but unlike ex: Civics where you can get up to 15hp with just a bolt-on or two, we're lucky for anything near 5hp, our stock engines aren't as responsive to bolt-on's as other cars so yeah, it might be his fault for needing more money to go beyond such methods but that’s because we already know that it's standard to swap or turbo if we want decent gains unlike other cars where with a few bolt-on's their owners will get some noticeable gains and be satisfied with just that. As easily as some can say to sell your car and you messed up, we can also recommend low-cost tuning solutions or just tell him to save for a engine and recommend one that is based on his driving style, that’s being lazy to not give any advice to the guy and makes the environment look hostile for newcomers. P.S. I myself am planning to own a Shinka RX-8 because I ain’t satisfied with the performance aspects of the car although I am not planning on selling it either if I do obtain another car, I love it for its handling, plain and simple, it handles well and I’ve grown to be content with how it is. |
