I recently changed my spark plugs on my 5sfe and as I pulled the spark plug wire out the little boot on the bottom of the plug wire stayed attached to the spark plug but the rest of the spark plug wire came out. I was wondering if anyone one has had the same problem with the little rubber boot getting stuck. if so howdid u guys manage to get it out short of taking off the head.I tried needle nose pliers and some lube to try and get it unstuck but have been unsuccesfull.Any ideas appreciated.

I'd just remove the plug if I were you. Take the hole thing out of there. You could cut the rubber as much as you can with snips and a knife so you can get to the plug. I'd replace the wires and plugs while your at it because that kind of wear means old plugs and wires. Besides, it's just kind of a good idea every now and then.

QUOTE(Bigmeanbulldog55 @ Dec 8, 2005 - 5:27 AM) I'd just remove the plug if I were you. Take the hole thing out of there. Besides, it's just kind of a good idea every now and then. I have tried to take out the spark plug but the rubber boot that is on it is keepin me from getting to the spark plug. Whenever I put a socket down there the rubber boot jus forces it away from the plug. And yes they are ngk wires, but they are only 6 months old. Tried the super giant needle nose but still not working.thanks for the info guys. This post has been edited by SiN_CeLi: Dec 8, 2005 - 11:56 AM |
