I'm just wondering did all ss2's and ss3's from 1997 have white dials are they better equipped than the 1996 models with the 180 hp engine I hear the 1997 ones have the beams engines. And what year did the projector lights come out. I really like celicas alot but I used to be a really big mitsi fan and i'm not anymore so any info about 1997 celica ss2's and ss3's would be great. Cheers.

1998 was the first year for BEAMS powerd celi's, and both SSII and SSIII models came with them. Only SSIII models have white dials, and they also exclusivly have super strut suspention. The projectors with clear highs also debuted at this same time. The apperance of SSIII's changed dramatically at this point compared to SSII's, they had standard the large spoiler, front and rear splitters, side skirts, and a lower grill insert, along with badges. Rims were a 205/55 white 5 spoke design as well. Recaro interior seats, red stitching, and i want to say embroided floormats were also part of the package. Hope this helps smile.gif

Yep, exactly. I've seen ss2 and ss3 with BEAMS engine. Beams just replaced the standard 3s-ge thats all.

I was just wondering about Recaro seats... Never thought they were Recaro, they look exactly like mine only with the red stiching.
