Just filled up my tank with 91 octane after driving home from work... while leaving the gas station, I gassed it and hear.. "CLUNK, CLUNK, CLUNK"....and my car stalls....even after I gassed it lightly.
This can't be good... My babies in pain... I feel like crying...seriously... Anyways... I think it's the transmission. I have auto and my car has about 187K on it. I also noticed that my left strut isn't bouncy like the right one. I'm not sure if this is related or not. And when I pushed the car (out of moving traffic) it makes a Clunk every revolution. I towed it to my mechanics, and I'm gonna see how much this is gonna cost me. Thanks for listening to my problems. |

QUOTE(creis @ Dec 15, 2005 - 2:16 AM) 180k ish is pretty good milage on a tranny. For any othe car, that's outstanding. For a toyota, it's ok. Mine went about 240k miles before I had to swap it out, and it wasn't because of a mechanical failure or anything. A nut inside the transmission had backed itself off and did some damage inside, thats all. Don't get me wrong, 180k miles on a transmission IS really awesome, but owning a toyota, the standards are a bit higher Nevertheless, good luck with the car! -Josh |
