There was another post like this one, but not really.
My car was doing just fine when I was driving, then all of a sudden at the light, my rpms dropped, and the car turned off. I turned it back on, and kinda stepped on it so that the rpms wouldnt drop, but then it started jerking, every couple of seconds, then it was ok until I got home and was parking then the rpms dropped again, and now my car doesnt want to start at all. Could it be my fuel filter or something? This post has been edited by celicaGT96: Dec 26, 2005 - 4:53 PM |

You need two wrenches for the bottom fitting. A 14 and a 10 I think. I could be wrong... that part you can figure out easily. Hold the filter piece with the 14 (you'll see where the filter has a "mock bolt" so you can get a hold of it with a wrench) and turn the 10 the opposite way from what you would think (it's upside down remember). The top fitting is a banjo bolt. Get a 14 socket and take it out. But be sure you have a reallly good hold on the filter before you start wrenching... you don't want to bend any of your fuel lines.
It's an easy job but because of the space restrictions it is time consuming. Make sure that when you put your new filter in you use thread lock on the bottom fitting and get it on tight... it will leak otherwise. And that is a definate NO-NO! Good luck. |
