I recently learned that a nieghbor has been using my dsl to acess the web.
![]() Is there a cheap easy way to stop this. I have heard this slows me down is this true? I live in an apartment so there may be more. -------------------- JDM guy made me do it.

^ if that IP address works, I would change it to a custum address, also if that modem has a web interface, if that IP address works and you get your modems settings page, you should be able to see what computers are using it, so if there is another computer besides your own on that list you should then be able to block it.
If your not using the antenna yank it off. the cheapest way to fix this would be to either remove the antenna or cover it with something to weaken the signal, if you dont want wireless I would get rid of it, but more info would help. I assume your talking about the modem given to you by your dsl providor (verison?) I would look at the manual and see if it has wireless or not (if there is an antenna its a good bet it does.) I'm sure there is a way to disable it, also if your sure your not using wireless read the manual it should say what the led light means (if it means there is activity or not, in which case if its showing activity someone is using it.)
