Hey Folks,
I just replaced my original clutch at 131K mi. I installed an Exedy Sportline clutch Kit. Resurfaced the Flywheel and used the same oil that the dealership uses. Now, when cold, its hard to shift into 1st, and when shifting into 3rd, all the time, it grinds a little. I did not grind before the clutch replacement, but the original clutch was slipping, so that 's why I replaced it. Any ideas about why its hard to shift into 1st and grinds into 3rd? mine starting to do in 3rd, its got 61,000k. i'm going to look for TSB's when i get to work and see if toyota had a problem with the 6th gen's trans i'll let u know what i find. and yes it does sound like synchros, but its kinda weird that we r all having the same problem. if i don't find anything in the TSB's i may call tech line.
