so. driving home from work... slow on the freeway as usual, nothing wrong though, all of a sudden this guy in this little ford ranger, slams on his breaks. i swearve to try to miss him, but i clip it with my front driver side. it would have been alot worse if i didnt swearve, its all cosmetic damage... now i have a reason for that carbon fiber hood huh?

honestly, i wouldnt go through insurance because it will just make the rates higher, doesnt matter whose car it is my car used be under my mothers name and i had an accident.
If his damages are minimal and he would agree to have you pay out of pocket and not go through insurance i would do it that way, that is just me. I asked if you had the police report because it says on there who is liable for the damages. Edit again- the reason why it is always the persons fault who rear ends someone is because when you choose to operate a motor vehicle you are supposed to assume that someone could potentially stop short and prepare for that inasmuch as staying enough car lengths away that if they did stop short you would have left enough room to avoid hitting them.
