I was sitting around the other day amusing myself by conjuring up things to do to my cars (I swear, if I had a Yugo, I'd look for every possible way to make it faster). And the thought hit me........

Obviously, a 3S-GTE swap into my car. But here's where the "unique" part comes in. Take a GT4 or Alltrac rear, and instead of doing the AWD conversion, install the rear and disconnect the front half-shafts, creating a RWD Celica.

I've seen this done MANY times on the early 90's GMC Syclone and Typhoon trucks. Granted, those are on a RWD platform, but essentially the same rule applies. Disconnect the front half shafts, all power/tq gets transferred to the rear wheels.

So..........What are the odds of this actually working in a 6GC. I guess it's about as close to a baby supra as you can get, but I thought it would make a great unique-factor for my car.

Long time off though. Motor swap for me won't happen until late this year at the earliest.

It would be just as hard as making an AWD Celica, and at that point you might as well keep it AWD. Which has never been done and most people seem to agree couldn't be done, practically.
