So about one week ago I discovered an abandoned Celica in a parking lot at a grocery store. The body is in bad condition and it has around 180,000 miles. It has no license plate, and no registration or inspection sticker. I want to take it home and start rebuilding it, but I don't know if it is a crime to take an abandoned car in North Carolina. What should I do cuz I want it reeeely bad...

QUOTE(celicagurl152003 @ Jan 18, 2006 - 12:19 AM) call the local police department and tell them what you just said. they will more then likly try to see if anyone claims it and if not it will be all yours Or, they'll tow it, give it sufficient time to have the owner claim it, try and contact the owner, then auction it off to cover the costs. yea i agree with all of you... i need to go to the police, but i don't want them to tow it... i don't even see why they would, because it has major exterior damage and smells really bad cuz hobos have been sleeping in it on cold nights... also, i was maybe hopin to get a salvage title on it if its possible
